The Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office Detention Center is a modern facility capable of housing approximately 300 detainees daily. The Detention Center serves all law enforcement for our community including local, state and federal agencies. There are currently 35 full time deputies/correctional officers that staff the Detention Center. In addition to the normal daily responsibilities of housing detainees, these employees are responsible for transporting detainees to and from court, handling in-state and out-of-state extraditions and maintaining facility security. Detainees held in this facility range from civil detainees to dangerous felons.
If you have any questions about our Detention Facility, please feel free to email Jail Administrator Lt. Andrew Johnson at ajohnson@sgcso.com.
If you are in need of a Letter of Incarceration and you are no longer incarcerated in our facility, you must mail your request in writing along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to the attention of custodian of records. All requests must come from the individual that was incarcerated, not from a third party. If a subject is still currently incarcerated in our facility, that individual must submit a General Request requesting a Letter of Incarceration and it will be provided. The detainee is responsible for mailing out the Letter of Incarceration to the appropriate party or agency. We will not mail items out for detainees, nor will we fax or email.
