Receive A Traffic Ticket?

 To plead guilty

Depending on the charge, you may be able to plead guilty to the original charge and pay online prior to your court date.  Find your case on Missouri Case.net by entering your ticket number under "Case Number Search", or by searching by your name & Ste. Genevieve County if you cannot find your ticket under "Case Number Search". Once you find your ticket/case # click on "Case Header", and then "Make a Payment". If you are able to plead and pay, the system will allow you to do so at that point.

You may also contact the Circuit Clerk's office by phone at (573) 883-2265 option 1, to see if/how you can plead guilty to the original charges.

Request for an offer/amendment

If you are an individual trying to get your traffic ticket(s) amended to a non-point, non-moving violation to keep it from appearing on your DOR driving record or auto insurance, you may contact our office by sending us an email requesting an amendment/offer at office@stegenpa.com. Make sure you include the case number or ticket numbers, your full name, and any documents we might need (examples: proof of insurance, vehicle registration, notice of reinstatement from DOR). We will email you back as soon as possible letting you know we received the email.

Then if applicable, we will email you back an offer, typically within 7-10 business days. If you agree with the terms on the offer letter, you will need sign and return the recommendation letter to the Circuit Clerk's office. The signed recommendation letter will serve as your guilty plea. More detailed instructions will be included on the letter.

*Fines, LERF and court cost are collected through the Circuit Clerk's Office, not our office.

However, if you do not hear back from us, and/or you do not have your signed offer returned to the Circuit Clerk's Office (and confirm receipt) prior to the court date on your ticket(s)/summons  - then you must appear in court. Failure to appear may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest.

If you are an attorney you should e-file an Entry of Appearance and Request for Recommendation. We will then e-file the recommendation letter on Case.net.
