Ways to Pay
Lisa Marschel, County Collector
Tax Payment Information
- Online Bill Pay using e-check ($1.50 fee) or debit/credit card (2.5% fee of the total amount due). Payments made on this site are posted based on the online payment transaction date/time. Early payment is highly recommended when paying online in case of technical difficulties. Many taxpayers opt to use online payment systems through banks to pay taxes. The Collector of Revenue urges those who use these systems to initiate payment at least five to seven business days prior to December 31. The payment date in these transactions is registered as the date payment is received by the Collector of Revenue's office, not the date a taxpayer initiates the transaction through their bank. Payments made online will not default to a mailed receipt. Taxpayers will be able to print an online receipt within three to five business days after payment is made.
- Pay by Mail using check, cashier's check or money order (do not mail cash). Make payable to Lisa Marschel or Ste. Genevieve County Collector. Mail to Lisa Marschel, Ste. Genevieve County Collector, P.O. Box 448, Ste. Genevieve, MO 63670. Include your payment stub and write your account number on the payment. For mailed payments, the USPS postmark determines the date or month of payment. A privately owned postage meter date does not qualify as a USPS postmark date. If payment is placed in the mail on December 31, it might not be postmarked until the next business day and could result in the addition of statutory late payment interest and penalty.
- Pay by Phone using e-check ($1.50 fee) or debit/credit card (2.5% fee of the total amount due). Call the toll-free tax payment line at 1-833-315-2987 and follow the prompts. Taxpayers need the account number located on the statement to use this system. Taxpayers will be able to print an online receipt within three to five business days after payment is made.
- Drop Box/Slot - submit check, cashier's check or money order in the secure drop box located in the East door of the Courthouse facing Third Street. Include remittance stub, if available, and account number on payment in an envelope. Receipts will be mailed for any payment received through the drop box. Do not place cash in the drop box.
- In Person - Taxpayers who have questions about their bill or need a receipt immediately may pay in person at the Collector of Revenue's service windows. Payment is accepted by cash, debit/credit card (2.5% of total amount due), check, cashier's check or money order.
Additional Tax Payment Website Information
If you need a paid receipt immediately (e.g. for vehicle licensing), please come into the office to pay to obtain the official paid receipt. The online payment receipt (from the card processing company) is not accepted for vehicle license renewal.
To allow for processing and reconciliation of the previous month's payments, online payment services will not be available from 12:01 a.m. on the first day of each month until the third business day. Please allow 5-10 business days for the processing of the payment. Electronic receipts for payments are not mailed by default but are accessible for printing online. To obtain a duplicate paper copy of a tax receipt from the Collector's office, there is $1 statutory fee for each tax year's receipt requested.
